Rocktober 1

Happy Rocktober everyone! (Being as I just finished my MS in geosciences, geology jokes, puns, and references are a necessity for me now). Today in Integrated science class, students graded their Free Body Diagrams worksheet, and then we spent some time in class working on learning Newton’s 2nd law of Motion. Basically, students learned that greater forces will accelerate objects more, and smaller masses are easier to accelerate. Tomorrow, students will take their quiz over Newton’s 1st law of motion, and force diagrams (Force Diagrams Video for review).

Science 8 spent some time organizing and finishing their Newton’s 2nd Law Lab (spring scale lab) and then working on the PhET simulations Newton’s second law worksheet, which is due Friday (use the PhET Forces and Motion Basics Simulation).

HOMEWORK: Integrated= Quantitative Force diagrams 2 (NL1 and 2) (remember that acceleration from weight is always 10). Quiz over Newton’s 1st law tomorrow, and force diagrams.
Science 8= Finish the PhET simulations Newton’s second law worksheet, due Friday (use the PhET Forces and Motion Basics Simulation). Quiz tomorrow on Newton’s Second law and force diagrams.
