March 3

Today in integrated science, students reviewed the Bohr Model Practice homework and debated some of the consensus for those. At the end of class, students received the Element Cards Activity activity. They will be identifying the characteristics of the different elements, and then organizing them into a color-coded manner that helps explain their relationships to one another.

Students in science 8 worked on part II of the Bird Beak lab 2016. Students competed to “live or die” in each generation by eating food of different point values. On the island, the lowest point value earned you death; the highest point value earned you reproduction. At the end of 4 rounds, we were able to see which type of beak was most or least common on each island, demonstrating natural selection leading up to evolution.
