Today in integrated, students wrapped up their mixture separation labs and we also began preparations for a phase change lab tomorrow. Students will need to come tomorrow and quickly get set up for the Phase Change Lab.

Science 8 students today began work on learning what an index fossil is. Students learned last week in their Fossils powerpoint that index fossils are used to compare ages of rock layers in completely different locations. Students looked at their fossils that we created last week and then took some time to do two card sorts that helped students understand how to use index fossils to compare rock layers of similar ages. Tomorrow, they’ll be working on a fossils lab and getting more help with trying to use index fossils.
